Emergency hotline launched for Bangladeshis stranded in Ukraine

Russia’s military offensive has led to a state of war in Ukraine. In such a situation, an emergency contact number has been provided by the Bangladesh Embassy in Romania for the Bangladeshis stranded in Ukraine.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said in a statement on his Facebook page on Friday (February 25).
“For those who want to cross the border from Romania and Moldova, the contact number is +40 (742) 553 809,” said the State Minister.
Earlier, the State Minister said the Poland-Ukraine border had been opened “without a visa” for Bangladeshi expatriates. In this case, valid passport holders will be able to enter Poland by showing their passports to the border guards.
Those who do not have a passport will be able to enter Poland with a travel pass. Every Bangladeshis are requested to keep 2 copies of passport size color photograph.
A delegation from the Bangladesh Embassy in Warsaw will leave for the Poland-Ukraine border on Saturday (February 26) morning. They will provide assistance to Bangladeshis who wish to enter Poland from Ukraine.
Due to separated explosions inside Ukraine, insufficient petrol and additional traffic tails along the way, expatriate Bangladeshis stationed in remote areas of the border are being asked to monitor the situation and move to the border.
