The Polish government will provide shelter to Bangladeshis stranded in Ukraine. This news has been confirmed by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Poland Sultana Laila.

The announcement comes in the midst of unrest while many countries are taking back their citizens. There is panic among foreign nationals in Ukraine over the threat of war.

The Ambassador said that the Polish government had given a briefing and said that it would provide shelter to Bangladeshis stranded in Ukraine. They will issue Shenzhen visa for 15 days. Immediately after the briefing, Bangladeshis interested in leaving Ukraine were asked to apply for a Shenzhen visa through the WhatsApp group. Those wishing to stay are advised to keep in constant touch with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Poland.

The embassy does not know the exact number of Bangladeshis living in Ukraine. However, hundreds of Bangladeshis are associated with them in the WhatsApp group.

Meanwhile, in the light of the recent situation, expatriate Bangladeshis living in Ukraine have been advised to leave the country immediately.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Poland made the suggestion in a Facebook post on Tuesday (February 15). However, no official statement was received from the Foreign Ministry on the matter.
