Govt’s for Bangabandhu Corner across the country in Mujib Year

In every educational institution and public office, the government has taken the step set up Bangabandhu Corner which will include different publications and important photos on the life of Bangabandhu, on the occasion of celebrating the Mujib Borsho, the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Besides, articles on Bangabandhu by different writers, speeches, statements, sayings, instructions, interviews of Bangabandhu will also be available there. Meanwhile, Bangabandhu Corner has been already set up in many institutions.
According to sources of the Ministry of Education, MP Akhtar Jahan proposed to set up Bangabandhu Corner in all educational institutions across the country to inform the students of the history of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the real history of the liberation war. Following this proposal, the decision was made.
It is learned that the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has directed in the meantime to implement the Bangabandhu Corner at all levels of educational institutions in the country. The directive was issued in a letter signed by the Assistant Director of the Directorate, Rupak Roy, on March 3.
The letter sent to all education boards says the direction was given to establish a ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the War of Liberation Corner’ at every educational institution. This initiative will play an effective role in spreading the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the spirit of the War of Liberation among the students. It is necessary to inspect the implementation of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the liberation war corner in the library of the educational institution. In light of the directives of the Ministry of Education, all boards are requested to submit a report after physically visiting the educational institutions.
It is reported that Bangabandhu Corner will be set up in libraries of educational institutions or separately in the institutions. At the Corner, whatever possible to inform the students about the Liberation War and Bangabandhu will be done, along with historical important photographs of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md. Zakir Hossain said Bangabandhu Corner would be set up in all government primary schools of the country.
Meanwhile, in order to commemorate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, a help center named Bangabandhu Corner will be set up in all the important hospitals of the country under the initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to ensure the health and information support to people.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik said that in addition to opening a help center named Bangabandhu Corner in all the important hospitals of the country, about 20,000 trees will be planted in all government clinics and hospitals across the country.
On the other hand, Mujib Corner will be set up in 1071 libraries in the country on the occasion of Mujib Year. Of them, there are 71 public and 1000 private libraries. Private libraries will be given Tk 200,000 for implementing the plan. The leaders and officials of the government's policy-making level said this on the last day of a four-day seminar organized by the National Library Center recently.
Besides, Bangabandhu Corner will be set up in press clubs across the country during Mujib Year. Chairman of Bangladesh Press Council, Justice Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, said that the initiative has been taken to establish a library named Bangabandhu Corner in the press clubs across the country to mark the birth centenary of Mujib. Each press club will be donated Tk 100,000 individually by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) for setting up the library.
