At least 20 terrorists have been killed in anti-separatist operations in Pakistan. The militants were killed in a Pakistani military operation and counter-attack on Wednesday.
The operation are being conducted as two army bases were attacked in the country's southwestern province of Balochistan.
A statement from Pakistan army said in a statement on Saturday. Al Jazeera gave the information.
A total of 20 terrorists were killed in anti-separatist operations in Panjgur and Noshki in Balochistan, the statement said. Security forces have launched an anti-separatist operation today.
Earlier on Wednesday, 20 people were killed in an attack on two military bases in Balochistan. Among the dead 7 were army members and 13 were terrorists. It was the largest attack on Pakistan's military in recent years.
The Balochistan Nationalist Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack in Panjgur and Noshki districts. This separatist organization was founded only a few days ago.
Meanwhile, the BLA issued a separate statement on Saturday night following the statement made by the Pakistan Army. It is reported that 16 people were killed in the army attack. However, in the statement, they further claimed that all their goals have been achieved.
Earlier, 10 Pakistani soldiers were killed in a rebel attack near the port of Gwadar in late January. China is building this geo-politically important port. China is investing 60 billion in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project.
