2 fishermen drown as trawler sinks in Hatiya

Two of the 16 fishermen died of a fishing trawler "MB Siraj" capsized in the Bay of Bengal. The other 12 fishermen in the trawler were rescued alive, but two fishermen are still missing in this incident.

The accident took place at Damarchar area of ​​Bay of Bengal in the island upazila Hatiya of Noakhali around 10 am on Friday.

The deceased fishermen are Main Uddin, a resident of Amtali village of Jahazmara UP, and Md. Raful, a resident of New Sukhchar village. The missing fishermen are Sharif and Belal.

Kanchan Kanti Dash, Hatia police station inspector said two fishermen died in the sinking of the fishing trawler. Two more fishermen are still missing. Police are searching them in the sea. Details will be given later.
