UGC alerts on admission to private university

Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a warning on admission for students in several private universities. The alert was issued on various allegations including irregularities, disobedience of the law and the introduction of unauthorized matters.
The UGC website on Thursday issued a public notice warning students about the admission.
The notice said that UGC will not accept the validity of the students' certification and its responsibilities when enrolling in those institutes.
It is reported that some of the identified universities have been accused of running illegal campuses. Some have been accused of running unauthorized programs. Some again instructed to stop student enrollment. A number of private universities have been announced closed for various offenses including charter trade. But they are being handled with suspension from the High Court. Again, some are accused of conflicts over ownership. There are also several universities that have been recommended for closure on various charges.
Unauthorized Campus: Because of the unauthorized campus, there are 10 universities has been blacklisted. Among them, the University Of South Asia, who runs an unauthorized campus on Road 17 at Banani. In addition, World University of Bangladesh (Uttara), University of Development Alternatives (Dhanmondi), Eastern University (Dhanmondi), Daffodil International University (Sobhanbagh), Asian University of Bangladesh (Uttara), Uttara University, (Uttara), NPI University of Bangladesh (Farmgate), Shanta Mariam University of Creative Technology (Uttara) and Victoria University of Bangladesh (Panthopath).
Run with illegal campus and court suspensions: Four universities are being operated with invalid campus and court suspension. They are the IBAIS University - filed a lawsuit in court over conflicts with the BOT and split into two. And despite the closure, the American Bangladesh University, University of Cumilla and the Southern University are being operated still with the defer of the Bangladesh court.
Conduct Unauthorized Courses: Students are admitted to two universities in different courses without approval. They are - Sylhet International University and ZH Sikder University of Science and Technology.
No permission to conduct education activities: Two universities were not allowed to conduct educational activities at the university level. They are Queens University and The University of Cumilla. But these universities are admitting students without approval.
In addition, students are being enrolled in various affiliated courses in Gano Universities. In this regard, UGC has called the students to verify course approval on the UGC website before admission.
Conflict with BOT and litigation in court: Five universities are under dispute in the BOT administration and litigation in court. These are Sylhet International University, Britannia University, Central University of Science and Technology and Southern University of Bangladesh and IBAIS University.
New 9 universities in the list: There are 9 new universities on the blacklist. They have not yet launched the program. These are Rabindra Srijanakola University, Rupayan AKM Shamsuzzoha University in Narayanganj, ZNRF University of Management Sciences, Ahasania Mission University of Science and Technology in Rajshahi, Shah Makhdum Management at the University of Rajshahi, Khulna, Khan Bahadur Ahasanulla University, Barisal University Trust, International Standard University and the University of Brahmanbaria.
