Red alert issued to arrest BNP leader Harris Chowdhury

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has issued a red alert to nab BNP leader Harris Chowdhury, who has been in hiding for 14 years.

CID Additional DIG Khandaker Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.

He said that BNP leader Harris Chowdhury is moving around the country by evading everyone's eyes. He was convicted in the 21, 2004 grenade attack case, Kibria murder case, and 10 truck arms case.

According to the CID, BNP leader Harris Chowdhury is abroad. However, they could not clarify his location exactly or where he is. Harris Chowdhury was the political secretary to the then prime minister Khaleda Zia in the four-party coalition government from 2001 to 2006. He went into hiding on January 11, 2006. In 2015, a red alert was issued to arrest him. But the law enforcement did not find him.
