Female doctor found dead in capital

The body of a female doctor named Supriya Karmakar (35) has been recovered from her house on Ramna New Eskaton Road in the capital.

Police recovered the body around 1pm on Monday and sent it to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital morgue for autopsy. Supriya used to work at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (Shebachim) Hospital.

Ramna Police Station SI Narayan Sarkar confirmed the incident and said she fell asleep after having dinner around 11pm on Sunday. At around 11 am on Monday, her younger brother Sutanu Karmakar went to call his sister. At that time, he knocked on the door and found Supriya hanging with fan. Later it was informed to the police.

According to police, Supriya was currently doing FCPS course at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). She is from Kartabazar village of Lalmohan upazila in Bhola. Supriya's parents live in Chattogram. This couple is the parents of two children.
