The number of Covid-19 cases with the death toll is increasing day by day. Dengue is also creating panic in a new way. Many of them have been infected with dengue. There have also been deaths from dengue.

Dengue outbreaks were mostly seen in the country from June to September. As always, the number of dengue patients is highest in the capital Dhaka. The number of dengue patients admitted to the hospital on 28 days of July stood at 1,726.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) says the dengue situation is getting worse during the epidemic. Doctors, on the other hand, report that a person can be contracted “COVID and dengue” at the same time. As a result, if he has a fever, it is important to get him “tested for both COVID and dengue”.

However, many do not understand the difference between dengue and coronavirus or Covid-19. As a result, wrong treatment can take place.

To get the right treatment, we must first understand the difference between dengue and Covid-19. Let us know the details about this –

Although some of the signs and symptoms of Covid-19 and dengue are considered to be the same, there are “some obvious differences”, said Dr. Muhammad Muhidul Islam, a medical officer of Biomed Diagnostic and Research Laboratory. “However, if such symptoms occur, the patient may have dengue and coronavirus; The two types of tests have to be done together.”

If the patient is infected with dengue, there may be severe fever, headache, pain in the back of the eyes, rash on the body within 2-5 days of the onset of fever, bleeding through the nose, and thin stools, Dr. Muhidul also said.

About the symptoms of COVID fever, Dr. Muhidul said if someone has COVID fever, they should have a “moderate” fever and headache. Symptoms may include sore throat, runny nose, cough, no sense of smell. However, if the patient’s condition is serious, there may be breathing difficulties.

However, there are many differences between Covid-19 and dengue as per the books, but in reality, not all people have the same symptoms, Dr. Muhidul added. “If any person contracts COVID, it can cause moderate fever and headache.”

Dengue stage

There are several stages of dengue. Among them are Dengue Fever, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, Dengue Shock Syndrome, Expanded Dengue Syndrome.

Now, in case of fever, Dengue NS1 Antigen should be tested for dengue for the first 5 to 7 days of fever. From then on, IgG, IgM antibodies will be available. But now you have to undergo at least two tests if you have a fever. These are – NS1 Antigen and COVID-19 test.
