Anushka rape and murder: Court directs DNA test
A Dhaka court today directed for DNA test in a case filed over rape and murder of Anushka, a student of Mastermind School in the capital.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court (CMM) passed the verdict on Sunday evening.
Earlier on Friday, the main and only accused in the case, Dihan, was produced before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, where he pleaded guilty and gave a confessional statement under section 164.
The victim was an 'O' level student of Mastermind School in Dhanmondi. Accused Dihan took the girl to his family's flat at Dolphin Lane in Kalabagan around 11am on Thursday and raping and killing her.
Accused Dihan took Anushka to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital after she was bleeding after rape. In the meantime, he called the victim's mother and informed her about her daughter's illness. The mother received the news of her daughter's death before coming to the hospital.
